Supporting "good government"? I doubt it!
In addition to state and federal candidate campaign contributions, state and federal advocacy group contributions, state and national party committee contributions, state and federal convention contributions, presidential inauguration contributions, leadership PAC contributions, lobbying, and legal defence fund contributions, national and international corporations, labor unions and wealthy individuals are more than happy to assist your public officials in travel expenses. For instance, Minnesota Senator Norman Coleman, who serves on the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee, received a free jet trip to Pebble Beach, California, to speak at the Hormel Foods Annual Fall Board Retreat
(Hormel Food Corp.) Senator Coleman's room cost for one night was $545 (at the corporate rate!) The thirty-five loyal Americans were gracious enough to the distinguished Senator by being host to the $8,598 Board banquet! Is this why the hard working people of Minnesota elected their own representative?
Join us at VOID, and send a message to the many Congress-men and -women who accept large financial contributions in a very corrupt two-party system-- offer your contributions of money and time to return trust between the owners of this country, we the people, and our representatives!

These groups don't give all that money without expecting something in return.
I don't have any real proof os this but I heard that some PACs and coroprations give to both mainstream parites so they'll 'own' whoever wins.
If this is true it's no wonder that nothing gets done that benifits the REAL OWNERS of this country, THE TAXPAYERS.
The only thing I ever agreed with Ross Parot on is WE ARE THE OWNERS OF THIS COUNTRY.

This type of arrogant waste and abuse enrages me.
It makes me wish The People would all march on D.C., drag these greedy, irresponsible, parasites out into the street, and beat the !$#!+! out of them.
The incumbents in Congress have really been making some tough decisions, haven't they?
Yeah, right. Here's how incumbents are making some of those tough decisions:

[] Vote for Pork-barrel or funding for FEMA ?
[] Congress votes itself raises or increase salaries of troops in active duty ?
[] $75,000 for Onondaga County for the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame or more armor for humvees ?
[] $150,000 added in conference for the Coca-Cola Space Science Center in Columbus, Ga. or secure the nation's borders (which Al-Qaeda is infiltrating) ?
[] $250,000 added by the House for the North Creek Ski Bowl in the district of House appropriator John Sweeney (R-N.Y.) or fix the levees in New Orleans ?
[] $250,000 added by the Senate for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tenn. to support community programs or fix our crumbling infrastructure (bridges, roads, railways, etc.) ?
[] $775,000 for the Biltmore Hotel in the district of Rep. Ileana Ros- Lehtinen (R-Fla.) or shore up Social Security and Medicare ?
[] $100,000 for the Tiger Woods Foundation or improve public education ?
[] $300,000 for Baltimore for the relocation of the Center Garage or prosecute investor/stock fraud ?
[] $5000 for gold embossed cards for Air Force One or bullet proof vests for troops in Iraq ?

98% of Congress is guilty of misplaced priorities and have voted on pork-barrel of one kind, or another.
It's the norm now.
But, that norm is growing worse and worse.
The government doesn't need more money. They get plenty. Over $2 Trillion (19% of GDP) is more than plenty. And, despite those vast revenues, the irresponsible incumbents continue to grow the government and debt ever larger to nightmare proportions. If we don't nip this in the bud, soon, it will be too late (if it ain't already).
