Nearly 90 percent of Americans say that political corruption is a serious problem, according to a recent AP-Ipsos poll. "The House has completely abdicated its constitutional responsibility to police itself," says Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics (CREW).
Members of neither the Democratic nor Republican parties in Congress are willing to file an ethics complaint against any of their peers. Most incumbents are more interested in their own image, than in their openess and integrity status with their constituents.
VOID was founded to bring light upon the corruption and irresponsibility of many of our public officials, and to encourage voters to bring in challengers to replace them. Only now have ethics scandals been brought forward in our country's legal system. Only now can we take on our own responsibility as citizens, and vote into office in 2006 and beyond, challengers until our great nation's critical problems are adequately addressed. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said
If the people will lead.
The leaders will follow.
It's time the people start leading. Leading the leaders out of office.

Never heard that.
But you don't know how much I agree with it.
The bought-and-paid-for incumbents won't reform themselves. Newcomers are quickly pressured and seduced into the corruption, or shunned and isolated, and stand little chance of re-election.
Only the voters can change it now. Will they? I don't know. All I can do is hope they will realize the longer they hesitate, the worse for them it will be.
