Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, and other congressmen, are stepping up and dispensing of financial contributions relating to corrupt Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff. These are good, moral decisions, of course. However, unethical contributions to both candidates and elected officials should never have been accepted in the first place; congress is now worried that many more instances of corruption will surface.
What special interests do-- companies and corporations (including international corporations), labor unions (including government employee), issue advocates, rich individuals and even foreign countries (including China)-- is find out who are the most influential public officials in Washington (and in states) in relation to their respective causes. Then they contribute significant amounts of money and gifts.
It is 2006, and it is time, to wake up our Washington public officials-- our incumbents-- and support and elect their responsible challenger candidates in 2006. With your help, Vote Out Incumbents for Democracy (www.voidnow.org) can relate this powerful right of American citizens, the owners of this great country on the Internet and elsewhere.. Please volunteer with us, and help bring more accountability to our nation's capital!

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Imagine all that we don't see.

d.a.n., you are absolutely right-- we, the people of this great nation, are the ultimate voters-- we decide whether the incumbents should be replaced by their challengers or not next election day. Most of us pay income taxes, too!
Because most of our present public officials accept campaign moneys from elsewhere, we should replace them with more accountable leaders.

These guys who are playing the "its never too late" give back the money game may be surprised when they see the VOID supporters, "get out of the way for the challenger" game.
