The following is an email reply to one of our generous cash supporters.
S., thank you so very much. We are paying for the membership cards out of our own pockets. We are trying to build sufficient VOID funds to pay for a publicity blitz of one kind or another. Speech is free, but, access to the media isn't. Well, almost. There are the call-in programs which take only time and a volunteer. We intend to make the most of that avenue as well.
Again, thank you for your continued support. There are times when I feel overwhelmed by the all the work we have put in, and all the words of support, but, the nearly complete lack of donations and dues paying members to fund the growth of VOID. But then, you come along and remind me of the movie, Field of Dreams where a character says, "Build it, and they will come."
We will keep building the VOID organization in the belief that they will come, in 2006, or 2008, or 2010 or beyond. I know in my soul and every fiber of my being that VOID's message is right, honest, and appropriate for our time. We must continue to believe that many others will recognize its value and help to pay for making it grow as you have so generously done.
