I am curious!
Polls are indicating a reverse coattail effect in November which could see the House of Representatives move to Democratic Party control, and likely modest gains in the Senate as well. But, will this change much in
'07 and '08? Will the country be better managed, will the pressing issues facing America be solved as a result? I am curious. Please help me out here, because my crystal ball rolled off somewhere and I can't find it.

What is most interesting is whether or not the major parties will be able to rally/unify amongst themselves. On some issues, its as if we have 4 parties. 2 Dem and 2 Rep at extreme positional locations. Your crystal ball may be the only way to determine.

Good question, Steve. I believe if enough of their incumbents fail in their reelection bids, moving to the center and solving problems will dawn on them as their ticket to protecting reelection in the future. The DNC and RNC will help insure that is the case by selecting candidates who will restore confidence in their party. But, only if the voters demonstrate their lost faith in the first place.

No! Both parties are corrupt. The Dems are going to say it's because they've got the answers, when it'll be because the people are dissatisfied and feel they've nowhere else to turn.

No. Any improvement will be temporary.
Parties are neither the problem or the solution.
The problem is irresponsible incumbent politicians in all parties.
While people gravitate to others they perceive with similar values, they are much more similar than not.
Democrats probably will recover some seats, since Republicans are not perceived as more corrupt, but that's only because Republicans are the current "In-Party".
That's why the Democrats lost their "In-Party" status in the 1990's.
After the Democrats regain their turn at the "In-Party" status, they will be just as corrupt.
The only real way to obtain real Responsibility, is for the voters to remember what they were supposed to be doing all along.
Many voters do not really understand what causes the corruption or how to eliminate it. They really do not understand how we have failed to design our government, organizations, and society to account for one important human factor.
That human factor is simply this: Laziness. Most people, naturally, seek security and prosperity with the least amount of effort and pain, but some (cheaters) resort to unethical or illegal methods. A lack of Education creates an environment ripe for Corruption. It leads to a lack of Transparency, that creates opportunities for self gain. That leads to a lack of Accountability, which means there are no consequences. Hence, the end result is no Responsibility, and Power amplifies the problem.
Reponsibility = Power + Education + Transparency + Accountability.
Corruption = Power - Education - Transparency - Accountability.
The health of any government, organization, and societie requires an understanding of that fundamental formula
So, don't dwell on the party issue.
Parties are not the problem or the solution.
Try to think outside of the box.
Don't be seduced into the circular, petty, partisan warfare.
That is a clever tactic to distract and fool voters.
Don't allow yourself to be manipulated any longer.
Take off the partisan blinders.
Stop wallowing in the petty partisan warfare.
Grow wise and learn how to spot those clever tactics.
Don't listen to those that promote mediocrity.
Don't accpet the status quo.
America should be the first to take the next step to a higher level.
