Florida Congressional Race Now a Toss-Up

Incumbent Clay Shaw Jr. (R-FL) has seen his lead over Democratic challenger State Senator Ron Klein evaporate. Senator Klein leads Shaw 43 to 42 percent in the most recent poll by Anzalone Liszt Research. The poll has a margin of error of 4.4 percent.

The polling was reported in an article published by the Miami Herald on Friday, September 29th. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/state/15634378.htm

As early as August, Shaw led Klein

48 to 41 percent. The recent poll was discounted by Shaw's staff as being conducted by "a democratic polling firm hired by a democratic client" and "what else would the poll say?"

Klein's spokesperson Brian Smoot said that he felt the polling was indicative of the people in the district being dissatisfied with the direction the country was headed.

This congressional race is the most expensive House race this election season. The total amount of money raised by all candidates for this race is over $6M.
