Time to Act !

Dear VOID Supporters,

Thank you all for the remarkable growth in Vote Out Incumbents Democracy (VOID) with the help of your support and encouragement.

Many great things are happening and I am very pleased to share them with you.

We have some fantastic new volunteers I want to mention. Zeb Pike and Dennis Sherrard have joined as writers for our web site. Kari Holtz has undertaken the management of one of our first state VOID chapters for Kentucky. And our Indiana site is also on line. (see menu above)

We cannot possibly have enough volunteers, there is so much to do. So, now is the time to step forward and ask what you can do for your country and VOID. Just drop me an email at president@voidnow.org and Daniel, or I, will find just the right place for your experience and talents.

We have an ad running on D.C. Political Report for a week beginning between the 28th and the 1st of Nov. The ad looks like this:

The Mainstream Media is picking up our message. If I didn't know better, CNN's Jack Cafferty studied our site for the first installment of CNN's week long Broken Government series, with Jack calling for Americans to vote out the incumbents. The mere mention of this program's title on our web site has doubled our daily visitors numbers.

Thousands of folks are visiting our web site this month - and while that is exciting, we must work to turn thousands into millions before the summer of 2008. That will take generous donations, a host of membership dues, and a lot of volunteers. If you haven't yet, become a member by clicking here.

And if your tax cuts are more than you know what to do with, by all means, make your donation today at the membership link above. We will put it to great use growing the VOID revolution. :--)

The polls are demonstrating that our VOID political action committee exists at just the right time in American politics. And we are unique. I have not found another PAC registered with the FEC carrying the anti-incumbent banner as we are.

Our "Vote Out Incumbents" window/bumper stickers are traveling on vehicles all around the country. If you don't have yours yet, click here! Your order should arrive in just 3 business days or less.

If it weren't for VOID,

many of us working so hard to make a difference, would have trouble finding hope for our nation's and children's future. The nation's debt, federal, trade, and unfunded mandates now equal over 43 Trillion dollars. Our nation is not secure, most shipping containers from foreign lands go uninspected, and our borders remain wide open 5 years after our nation was attacked. And a huge section of the middle class and poor are seeing their earned dollars buy less and less quality of life in America as the price of necessities continue to climb, such as health care, insurance, education, property taxes, energy costs, and more and higher fees attached to a host of new items. If it weren't for VOID, I would be depressed.

Instead, because of your words of encouragement, memberships, and volunteer support, I, and all of VOID's volunteers are growing more hopeful each week. The polls and our supporter numbers clearly show us we are on the right track. And incumbents will be losing next week and the percentage of incumbents reelected is going to drop. But, as we all know, turning corrupt and inefficient government around is not going to be accomplished in one election, or by one party or another, or by a drop in the reelection rate from an average of 90% to 84%.

It will take 3 or more election cycles and a drop from 90% to 50% or so, before politicians accept the fact that their reelection depends more on the voters than on the wealthy campaign donors, special interests, lobbyists, and their party. And then, we will see the kinds of reforms and solutions to America's growing problems which can give us all hope for a better future for our children and ourselves.

You can make it happen. We can make it happen, by giving what we can to the fight and struggle to recapture government of, by, and for the people. It means we must sacrifice our time, and some of our discretionary money, to carry the fight forward. But, can you think of a better cause than ending the corruption, the bribery, the inefficiency, and wastefulness, and petty party bickering which results in little worth while being accomplished in D.C.?

We will lose this struggle if we can't create the critical voting mass necessary to remove half of the incumbents by 2010's election. Make the commitment today, to give more of what you can to insure we don't lose this struggle for our democratic republic, our nation's and our children's future.

Vote Out Incumbents on Nov. 7 and take a friend, or three, to do the same.

UPDATE: Our ad will begin running on DC's Political Report on Oct. 31 to Nov. 7.

Things are looking great!

(what a rotten time to be starting a new job though)

"Watch on Election Night for Indiana's political shift"
Which can be seen at: http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061101/OPINION01/611010367/-1/ZONES04

An article written by Tim Roemer appeared in the Nov. 1st edition of the Indy Star which, whether intended or not this article gives excellent insight into the future of VOIDnow.com activities. Please read it for yourself and see what you get out of it.
After reading the article I sat back and thought to myself just how great it would be to fill our political offices with liberal conservatives and conservative liberals. What would we do with a "House" full of politicians that are not bound to, or afraid to look at both sides of the issue, but would make decisions that are the best for our Country.

I just hope voters don't forget to vote out irresponsible incumbents in ALL parties.

  • From last paragraph of the article: On Election Night, Katie Couric just might announce that a new politics is sweeping Indiana and giving momentum to other congressional races throughout the country. Should it comes to pass, this could signal not a new round of partisan reprisals, but a new era of problem-solving in Washington, led by a healthy dose of Midwestern civility and common sense.

True. Just plain old common-sense.

Who can dispute voters finally doing the one simple, common-sense, peaceful, non-partisan, responsible thing that voters were supposed to be doing all along; always:

Simply stop re-electing irresponsible, bought-and-paid-for, look-the-other-way incumbent politicians.

BAD_voters = BAD_Politicians = BAD_government

It sounds simple, but it isn't.
Why?
Because it is not easy to get people to abandon their long-time, deeply engrained partisan loyalties. Not even when their party is behaving badly.

I was a Republican for 30 years (until almost 2 years ago). The last 6 years have been eye-opening for me. But, the problem is NOT merely a Republican problem or a Democrat problem.
The probem is that BOTH are irresponsible, and hopefully, while many will never take off the blinding party blinders, some are, and that's a good thing, and only a small percentage of all 200 million eligible voters is required to change the political landscape significantly, because most elections are won by close margins. If only a small percentage of all eligible voters decide to stop re-electing irresponsible incumbents, it will not go unnoticed by remaining incumbents.

The problem with government is that it is irresponsible, but voters keep re-electing, rewarding, and empowering them.

When enough voters understand this, they will stop doing it. The sooner the better. The longer it takes, the worse it will be for voters themselves. And that is as is should be. Their education is on the way. It can be the smart way (soon), or the dumb way (later and accompanied with more pain and misery). Take your pick.

This is why education is important. Many voters do NOT know what to do. They believe they need to keep pulling the party-lever and voting straight-ticket. That blind party loyalty is how the parties control voters, maintain a 90% re-election rate, and continue to threaten the future and security of the nation.

Already, the fiscal picture is dismal. We have SO much debt ($22 trillion of total currenbt federal debt), and $20 trillion of personal debt, and interest on the $8.6 trillion National Debt alone is over $1 billion per day! There will already be unavoidable consequences for this fiscal irresponsibility. If this massive debt, borrowing, spending, and money-printing continues much longer, it will almost certainly result in a serious economic meltdown. $22 trillion of federal debt and $2.2 trillion in annaul federal revenues is like me making $100K per year, but owing $1 million in debt.

There are some voters out there that understand all this. It's not really that difficult, once the partisan blinders are removed. Those people that understand this need to help energize and educate their fellow man, woman, and child. Ignorance is not an excuse, and ignorance will only accomplish one thing: we will have to learn the hard, painfu way again.
