They Died - Memorial Day

Memorial Day is both to honor the fallen and refresh our memories as to what they died, or were wounded for. America did the honors. But, Americans have forgotten what they sacrificed for. Contrary to popular belief it was not for opening the borders to the world unchecked, nor for hidden, secretive government, nor for a government that spies and lies about its own citizens, nor, did they fall so the future generation could bankrupt the nation.

Corruption Steals More Taxpayer Millions

Tax payers are being ripped off in the billions by incompetent and deceptive politicians in cahoots with deceptive private contractors. In this ongoing saga of corruption and abuse of taxpayers, the Washington Post sheds light on yet another story in which Sun Microsystems is alleged to have bilked tax payers out of millions of dollars under the blind eye of politicians and staffers.

Lobby and Ethics Reform - More Shame!

Rep.'s Jack Murtha (D) and John Boehner (R) should be ashamed of themselves. But, they aren't. They are incumbents who have been in power too long. The attempts to reconcile differences between the House and Senate on lobbying and ethics reform has been a mess, and it is yet unclear whether the American people will get the relief they seek from legislation being bought and sold by special interests, and incumbents addicted to their legal bribes.

Amnesty: Emergency

A bill is coming to the Houses of Congress to be voted on beginning next Monday. It is an amnesty bill for 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants, and has no chance of preventing a new massive influx of illegal immigrants. To see Sen. Kennedy and Pres. Bush on the same ticket like this is a bit bewildering. But, that the White House and Democratic Congress would attempt to sell out the American citizen's way of life and undermine the rule of law, yet again, borders on the criminal.

Farewell Falwell - No Farewell Iraq

The Rev. Jerry Falwell is dead. Amen, say many. Some of my liberal friends are saying the world will be better off. One of my Republican friends is lamenting his passing. My take is he was the closest thing to PT Barnum the Evangelical world ever saw. He was a master at knowing his audience's prejudices, preferences, and audience likes and dislikes, and he played to them as a master showman. Saying it would be better to vote for the Devil than Hillary, he knew how to turn his following's passions on.

Term Limits

One of VOID's supporters, Nelson Walker, has a video on YouTube, you may want to check out if term limits appeals to you. VOID takes no position one way or another on term limits, but, many of VOID's supporters sincerely believe term limits are the best way to prevent politicians from becoming corrupted by their positions of power. If you are a supporter of Term Limits, check out Walker's YouTube video, and receive a free bumper sticker advocating term limits.

$4/gal. Gas Coming. Demand Tax Cut.

Last year the consumer was gouged at the gas pump. But, this year will be worse. Increasingly, MSNBC reports, customers are agreeing the oil companies are fleecing them. But, government has in fact, been fleecing Americans at the pump for decades.

The federal taxes on gasoline now amount to over 18 cents per gallon. The Reagan administration raised them, then Clinton raised them. Together more than 14 cents per gallon between 1982 and 1993. Why does N.J. have the lowest gasoline price in the country at the moment? Their state tax on gasoline is the lowest in the country. And California and New York have the highest gas prices due to state taxes, ranging from 32 to 60 cents per gallon. Add in local excise taxes by counties and municipalities and about $1 of each gallon of gasoline is tax.
