By age 16, I'd lived in 28 different, visited more than half of the American States, visited a dozen countries, resided overseas for a year. After High School, I worked awhile (oil rigs, construction, roofing, electrical, and plumbing), then went to college, changed my major a couple of times (Art/Design, Architecture, Aerospace), finally graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and have been a software developer for 24 years (C, C++, SQL, Visual Basic, databases, real-time data-acquisition & control, network communications & protocols, network & system management, user support & training). Work took me to other places, and by age of 36, having lived in 33 different places, moving about was getting old. I met Amy. We married, and settled down in one place for a while.
Labels don't always mean much, but I used to be a Republican for 28 years, and now belong to no party. Not that there is anything wrong with parties. They just don't seem to be the solution.
For a long time, the federal government has grown increasingly irresponsible (fiscally and morally). The nations pressing problems have grown as well. I firmly believe the federal government is FOR SALE. Big-money influence is making government rotten to the core. Bought-and-paid-for incumbent politicians are spending, wasting, borrowing, and printing too much money. I believe it almost certainly will have disastrous consequences. The solution requires a more educated electorate.
I joined VOID to help educate voters. Education is needed to remind voters to do the one simple, logical, non-partisan, inexpensive, ethical, safe, and responsible thing voters should have been doing all along: to peacefully force government to be accountable and responsible, at the polls! Don't re-elect irresponsible incumbent politicians.
